Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai
Namaste, Welcome to India! You will be met by your private driver at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Mumbai
Today you will explore Mumbai. Let's start with the famous Indian gate and the Taj Palace. Take a tour by Dhobi Ghât, the city's open laundry. End your day with a long walk from the marine drive to Chowpatti beach where you can taste some specialties of the region while watching the sunset over the sea.

Day 3: Flight Mumbai - Aurangabad (Flight)
Transfer to Mumbai airport where you take your flight to Aurangabad. You will be welcomed by your new private driver and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4: Aurangabad
The city of Aurangabad is known for the Ellora Caves. Your driver will drive you 1 hour from the city to visit these thousand-year-old caves. Visit the medieval village of Khultabad, a major place of Muslim pilgrimage and Alamgirh Dargah where you can see the tomb where the last rests Mughal emperor. For the brave, possibility of going up to the fort of Daulatabad. Perched at 180m above sea level, the panoramic view is worth it.

Day 5: Aurangabad - Ajanta - Jalgaon (5 / 6H by car)
In the morning, visite of the Ajanta caves, listed as world heritage by UNESCO, the first buddhsit caves date from 2nd and 1st century before Christ. The painting and sculptures of Ajanta are considered masterpieces of the Buddhist religious art. Then take the road to Jalgaon . Upon arrival, check-in in your hotel.

Day 6: Jalgaon - Mandu (5 / 6H by car)
Visit the temples of the city and at the end of the morning, drive to Mandu. Upon arrival, check-in in your hotel.

Day 7: Mandu - Maheshwar (1/2 hour by car)
This city has long been the Muslim capital of the state. Take the chance in the morning to visit the city fort, built by Baaz Bahadur in memory of his queen Rani Roopmati. In the afternoon drive to Maheshwar.

Day 8: Maheshwar
Today you will find the perfect trilogy for a stage of charm, fort, temples and ghats. Attend rituals and prayers and soak up of Hindu culture. In the afternoon, embark on a cruise on the sacred river of Narmada. For shopping fans, the city of Maheshwar is also known for its high quality sarees.

Day 9: Maheshwar - Indore (2 / 3H by car)
Departure at the end of the morning for Indore, the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a city of influence in central India. You will see magnificent parks, palaces, temples and above all let yourself be tempted by "street food", a real delight.

Day 10: Indore - Ujjain (2 / 3H by car)
Departure in the morning for Ujjain, city known to be one of the 7 sacred cities in India and especially to be the city where the famous Hindu festival takes place. the "Kumbh Mela".

Day 11: Ujjain - Jhansi (10 / 12H night train)
The city of Ujjain is full of many temples and other religious sites. It is a city that fascinates for its religious significance. Soak up through the Hindu religion by visiting splendid temples and other places of worship. In the evening transfer to the station and overnight train to Jhansi.

Day 12: Jhansi - Orchha (1 hour by car)
Morning arrival in Jhansi, transfer to your hotel. Do not waste time and go to visit this city with a rich and important history. Indeed the city is known for its queen Laxmibai who sacrificed her life for the cause of Indian independence against the English in 1857. Visit the fort of Jhansi and the old palace of Rani Lakshmi Bai. At the end of the day, drive to Orchha.

Day 13: Orchha - Khajuraho (5 / 6H by car)
Start the city tour with the Palace of Orchha, then go to the Raj Mahal and its beautifully crafted paintings. Continue towards Jahangir Mahal which was built for the visit of the Mughal emperor Jahangir. Then don't miss the Chaturbhuj temple, with a superb Sikhara, with intertwined Hindu and Arab influences. In the afternoon, drive to Khajuraho.

Day 14: Khajuraho - Varanasi (11 / 12H night train)
In the morning, visit the superb temples of this small village. The temples of Khajuraho are known for their erotic frescoes.

Day 15: Varanasi
You can start your day with a visit to the various temples of Varanasi. It is the city of Shiva, one of the creator Gods of India. Take a stroll on the numerous gaths at any time of the day to soak up this unique atmosphere in Varanasi. Possibility also to attend one of the many ceremonies or "Puja" in the evening or in the morning, for sunrise and sunset.

Day 16: Varanasi - Delhi (Flight)
Transfer to the airport to take your flight to Delhi.
