Day 1: Chennai International Airport - Mahabalipuram

Welcome in India You are welcomed by your driver at Chennai International Airport. Transfer to the hotel in Mahabalipuram. Take advantage of your free time to explore the city. Former port of the Paliavas dynasty dating from the 7th century, do not miss its many temples and its magnificent beach. Night at the hotel.

Day 2: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Visit of Mahabalipuram and its famous monument “Five Rathas” and continue the road towards Pondicherry. Pondicherry, the former French counter. You will visit the French Quarter there, which is located along the sea. You can see street names in French, French establishments. Take a walk in the city. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3: Pondicherry

After breakfast, you go to discover Pondicherry and its history. The seafront and the city center. Discover the big market in the old French Quarter, admire the traditional Tamil houses, and continue to the Indian quarters. It is an exciting city, with unique architecture. Night at the hotel.

Day 4: Pondicherry - Thanjavur

Today, drive to Thanjavur. You stop at the colorful temple of Chidambaram, where the famous dance of Tamil Nadu was born: Bharatanatyam. You pass sumptuous Hindu temples of Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram, built with blond stones carved in the shapes of deities. These two temples are dedicated to God Shiva. To finish in style, sunset over another jewel of Chola art: the temple of Brihadeshwara. Night at the hotel.

Day 5: Thanjavur - Chettinad

Today, head to Trichy and visit the Rock Fort which houses several temples and offers a sublime view of the sacred island of Srirangam. On this island is the temple of Ranganatha, a major pilgrimage site in southern India. Drive to Chettinad and visit Karaikudi, which has several temples including the Pillaiyarpati Temple. You will also discover ancestral homes of the Chettiars, the rich Tamil trading community. Possibility to visit the magnificent Chettinad Palace, the imposing Tirumayam Fortress and the Sri Gokarneshwara Temple. Night at the hotel.

Day 6: Chettinad - Madurai

After breakfast, drive to Madurai, a Mecca of Hindu pilgrimage and cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. Visit the sumptuous Meenakshi temple. It is a temple of great serenity. Madurai is a city full of life and charm, the women put jasmine necklaces in their hair and the smell captivates you, the smile of the inhabitants charms you. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Madurai –Sigiriya

Departing today for Sri Lanka. Transfer to the international airport Welcome on arrival at the airport by your new driver and transfer to the town of Sigiriya, in the heart of the cultural triangle region. Check into your hotel and enjoy the peace and serenity of the Sri Lankan countryside. Night at the hotel.

Day 8: Sigiriya

This morning drive to Polonnaruwa, on the rise with the decline of Anuradhapura, the town of Polonnaruwa - medieval capital and crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I - remains a superior proof of ancient culture and heritage intertwined with beliefs religious. Discover the ruins of this former royal capital which is full of treasures and archaeological remains. For lunch, savor a traditional curry in a charming setting facing the rice fields. Transfer to Minneriya for a half-day safari in Minneriya National Park to admire its elephants and numerous birds. Overnight in Sigiriya

Day 9: Sigiriya - Kandy

Today, visit the Sigiriya Fortress. The ruins of Kassapa Palace are not to be missed, its frescoes and panoramic view of the surrounding valley are breathtaking. Road to Kandy, discovery of different dances and traditional costumes. Watch a fire walking demonstration. Visit of the Temple of the Tooth, housing the most important Buddhist relic in the country. Visit the time in the late afternoon, so you can attend the evening ceremony. Night at the hotel.

Day 10: Kandy - Ella

Road to Nuwara Eliya. You will be able to take advantage of the road to see magnificent landscapes between tea plantations and Ramboda waterfalls. On the program, visit a plantation and a tea factory where you have the opportunity to taste the local production. Nuwara Eliya, known as Little England is a beautiful mountain resort that has retained an English atmosphere. Overnight at the hotel in Ella.

Day 11: Ella - Bentota

Transfer to Haputale. Embark aboard a tuk-tuk for a ride between mountains and tea plantations. Flowers, tulip trees, eucalyptus, tea plantations stretch as far as the eye can see. Head to the Lipton Seat lookout and visit along the way: a mosque, Hindu temples. Once at the top, enjoy a cup of tea while enjoying a wonderful mountain viewpoint. Road to Bandarawela for a local cooking class: Learn how to prepare a famous rice and curry! Overnight at a hotel in Bentota.

Day 12: Bentota

It is one of the oldest seaside resorts in Sri Lanka. Ideal place for practicing water sports, relaxing at the beach, visiting the turtle conservation center, visiting the tropical gardens of the Brief Garden and the Lunuganga Estate or simply visiting the Kanda Viharaya temple to see the giant Buddha. You have the choice today to do what makes you happy. Night at the hotel.
