Day 1: Arrival in Chennai
Upon your arrival at Chennai airport, you will be warmly greeted by your private chauffeur who will transfer you to your hotel to relax and settle in. Enjoy this first day to rest after your flight and adjust to the vibrant atmosphere of the city, rich in history and culture. If you're feeling energetic, you can take a short walk around the hotel or sample some local specialties to begin your immersion in Tamil Nadu’s culture.

Day 2: Chennai - Pondicherry via Mahabalipuram
In the morning, after breakfast, you will begin your journey to Pondicherry. En route, you will stop in Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its monolithic sculptures and ancient temples. You will visit the "Five Rathas" temple, a series of monolithic temples, each representing a mythological vehicle. You will also explore the impressive bas-relief of the "Descent of the Ganges," which tells the mythological story of the sacred river. In the late afternoon, you will continue your journey towards Pondicherry, where you will spend the night at your hotel.
Today, you will explore Pondicherry’s French Quarter, which transports you back in time with its white-washed houses with colorful shutters, quaint cafés, and craft shops. You will discover historical buildings that remind you of the colonial era, as well as the beautiful seaside promenade offering stunning views of the Bay of Bengal. Day 4: Pondicherry - Tanjavur (169 Km - 3 / 4H drive)
After a hearty breakfast, you will start your journey towards Tanjavur. On the way, you will stop to visit the Chidambaram Temple, a sacred site dedicated to Shiva, where you can admire the classical architecture of Tamil Nadu. You will also visit Gangaikondacholapuram, a majestic temple often compared to the Brihadishvara Temple in Tanjavur, but less crowded, offering a quieter and more mystical atmosphere. After this, you will continue to Tanjavur, a historic city of the Chola Empire, where you will spend the night. Day 5: Thanjavur- Chettinad
Your day will start with a visit to the Brihadishvara Temple, one of the largest temples in India and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This temple, with its towering pyramid and intricate sculptures, is the perfect example of Chola architecture. After this visit, you will continue your journey towards Chettinad, an area renowned for its beautifully decorated ancestral homes and unique architecture. You will explore the region's houses, built according to traditional Indian architectural principles, and discover the local culture. In the afternoon, you can relax and savor local Chettinad cuisine, known for its spicy and flavorful dishes.

Day 6: Chettinad - Madurai
This morning, you will visit the Thirumayam Fort, a 17th-century fortress, and then explore the Gokarneshwara Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Shiva, which features typical Tamil Nadu architecture. Afterward, you will take the road to Madurai, a city famous for the Meenakshi Temple. One of the oldest and most important cities in Tamil Nadu, Madurai will offer you a great introduction to the culture of southern India. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to begin exploring the city or simply relax at your hotel before dinner.

Day 7: Madurai - Munnar (153 Km - 3 / 4H drive)
Your morning will start with a visit to the Meenakshi Temple, one of the most stunning temples in Tamil Nadu, known for its breathtaking architecture and detailed sculptures. Afterward, you will take the road to Munnar, a hill station in Kerala, famous for its tea plantations and breathtaking mountain views. En route, you will enjoy magnificent views of tea plantations, verdant hills, and dense forests. Upon arrival, you can relax and begin exploring Munnar's peaceful surroundings, known for its scenic landscapes.

Day 8: Munnar - Periyar (92 Km - 2 / 3H drive)
Today, you will head to Thekkady, stopping at Top Station, the highest point in Munnar, offering panoramic views of the valleys and surrounding mountains. Upon arrival at Thekkady, you will visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected natural area home to a wide variety of wildlife. You may have the chance to spot elephants, deer, monkeys, and tropical birds. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening in this idyllic region.
Early in the morning, you will take a boat ride on Periyar Lake in search of wildlife.
